Types of running track events

Events in a Running track can be separated into three main categories:

  • Monitor events generally refer to events that take place inside the stadium, other space events that require running on the streets are included in the list.
  • Track events usually, they are not complicated: runs from point A to point B in the shortest possible time.

Here is an overview of the basic things you need to know about tracking events in a Running track.

  • Sprint: Sprints refer to explosive bursts of speed over short distances. Thus, sprinters generally require more muscle mass than their long distance counterparts as a result of the anaerobic nature of the function.
  • Middle distance: Medium distance events are often known as the most difficult of running events, as it requires both endurance and strength, middle distance runners appear slimmer than sprinters, and a little more muscular than long distance runners.
  • Long distance: These races are generally aerobic in nature.. What does it mean, requires the runner to process oxygen in low intensity activities for an extended period of time. Long-distance runners have powerful cardiovascular systems, allowing them to last through careers ranging from 15 minutes to two hours.

  • Obstacles and obstacle course: The obstacle course is an obstacle course, derived from horse racing. Both women and men compete in the most frequent space: 3000 m. Although the obstacle course for girls has lower barriers.
  • Relays: Coaches form a relay team. Each runner must pass the baton to the next runner in a specific zone, usually visibly marked on the track. Failure to pass the baton correctly, or dropping the baton may lead to disqualification.
  • Indoors vs outdoors: Competitions Athletics indoors are often more limited compared to outdoor athletics competitions due to space limitations; the inner tracks are 200 meters long, with four to eight lanes.
